About the Florida Training & Leadership Development Initiative

Florida's Training and Leadership Development Initiative supports Florida advocates’ ongoing professional and leadership development and increases the Florida community’s collective capacity to engage in high-impact, systemic advocacy.

Now in its third year, CLAE’s work with the Florida community includes four key components through which we:

  • Deliver a series of core advocacy and other skills training programs;
  • Develop a network of diverse and skilled Florida advocates to serve as course faculty and participate in training design teams;
  • Provide mechanisms for reinforcing and building upon what staff learn in training courses once they return to their legal aid programs; and
  • Sponsor a year-long Leadership Institute to develop a broader, more experienced and diverse pool of leaders within the Florida legal aid community.
