NE Consortium Developing New Forums for Web-based Training

Twenty-five staff members from NE Consortium member programs recently attended two days of training design meetings facilitated by CLAE colleague David Cruickshank.
The work undertaken in these meetings reflects CLAE's ongoing committment to respond to our community's emerging or unmet needs and to design new programs and resources that minimize or eliminate costs associated with in-person training.
Training participants developed initial designs for web-based trainings for Experienced Attorneys on subjects ranging from Ethical Issues in Legal Services Practice to Fundamentals to Discovering Electonic Data. The Hotline Training design group developed initial training modules for three groups -- screeners who conduct initial intake, advocates who provide information, advice and brief service, and supervisors and managers who oversee and guide the work of the first two groups. These new training programs will utilize a range of web-based tools but also provide the kinds of cross-program interactions that have always been a hallmark of Consortium programming.
